If you're experiencing a problem with one of our software products, please fill out

and submit the following bug report form.

You may also want to check out our list of known problems.

If what you want to tell us is really more of a suggestion or a

request for enhancement, please use our suggestion form instead.

Bug Report Form

When you submit your bug report, it will be entered into our database for tracking purposes.
It will be associated with the account name under which you accessed this web.
After an initial assessment by our support department, the resolution of the
problem will be assigned to an appropriate engineer. Periodically we will post
notices regarding bugs reported by our customers in the Known Problems section
of this page, and tips or workarounds on the FAQ page.

Please be as specific as possible when describing the problem.

  1. What version of the software are you using?

  2. What operating system are you using?
    Other:

  3. Please enter a brief one-line description of the problem:

(example: "Editor doesn't respond to up-arrow under image")

  4. If the problem is reproducible, please list the steps required to cause it,
leaving a blank line between steps:

(example: "1. Create a new file. 2. Insert some text ...")

If the problem is not reproducible (only happened once, or occasionally for no apparent reason),
please describe the circumstances in which it occurred and the symptoms observed:

(note: it is much harder for us to fix non-reproducible bugs)

  5. If the problem causes any error messages to appear,
please write down the exact text displayed and enter it here:

  6. Please provide us with the following information in case we need to contact you:
    Name:
    Phone:
    E-mail:

We may need to contact you for more information,
such as if we have trouble reproducing the problem you describe.

Known Problems

The following is a list of some known problems with our software;
we are working to correct them for the next release.

bulletKintecus V3.7 - Sat Mar 26, 2005
bullet1) The temperature changes during volume compressions
and expansions relied mainly on the chemical reactions.
A pv^(gamma) temperature correction has been added to
the temperature calculation. The idea gas value of 1.4
which is normally used is NOT USED in this case, but
gamma is calculated from the thermodynamic database.

2) For the heat-source field located in the
parameter spreadsheet. If you provided a thermal conductivity
followed by an external heat-jacket temperature (ie 0.1:298 )
in that field, Kintecus would interpret 0:1:298 for
an external heat-source perturbation file and not two
separate numbers and would quit with a fatal error. This
is fixed.
*EXCEL NOTE: if you type two whole numbers for the heat source
field (ie, 2:298), Excel will interpret that value as a time
value and assign a Julian-excel-time-date-decimal. You have
to convert that field to a Text field in order to keep

bullet2/23/2005

*** GRI-MECH 3.0 Spreadsheet Problem ***

With all releases of Kintecus, all the batch files
(those files ending in .BAT) are always tested
against the literature and experimental results
to make surethere is good agreement. The Excel
spreadsheets are occasionally tested. The
"therm" worksheet in the GRI-MECH3.0 Excel
spreadsheets has inadvertently
switched the common and high temperature ranges
for the species thermodynamic data. If you are using
the GRI-MECH3.0 spreadsheet, then you will want to:

CHANGE CELL C5 in the "therm" worksheet of all GRI-MECH
model spreadsheets *FROM*

SP:LT:HT:CT:HA1:HA2:HA3:HA4:HA5:HA6:HA7:LA1:LA2:LA3:LA4:LA5:LA6:LA7:MW:CMW

*TO*

SP:LT:CT:HT:HA1:HA2:HA3:HA4:HA5:HA6:HA7:LA1:LA2:LA3:LA4:LA5:LA6:LA7:MW:CMW

(it’s a switch of HT:CT to CT:HT)

Again, all 8 GRI-MECH BATCH files are fine. It is the GRI-MECH3.0
spreadsheet's "therm" Thermodynamic Description Worksheet that
needs to be change.

Some of the new results that might happen are possibly higher
temperature and/or the concentrations of some intermediate
combustion species might change by several percentage points.

If you are using the OLDER GRI-MECH3.0 Excel spreadsheets
that DO NOT contain the GRI-MECH3.0 thermodynamic database
as a worksheet (you
DO NOT SEE the worksheet named
"O_gritherm.dat") then
DO NOT MAKE ANY CHANGES!
The thermodynamic description worksheet "therm" is CORRECT
for those older spreadsheets.
